Dr. Andrew P. L. Clift
President
Andrew has lived and worked in over ten countries in various clinical and public health capacities for a number of State and National Governments, non-government organisations and United Nations agencies. He has extensive experience in remote, retrieval, critical care and international medicine, hospital and project management, including more than ten years working in with orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children. Andrew continues to provide clinical services in remote northern Australia whilst making regular trips to Cambodia. Andrew speaks and reads several languages including Spanish, Thai and Indonesian.
Dawn Cornish
Board Member & In-Country Director
Dawn has a background in management and nursing. She completed her BA Nursing Science with James Cook University in 2000 and has studied International and Community Development at a tertiary level. She has lived and worked in numerous countries, and has extensive experience working with AIDS orphans in Asia. Dawn has been involved in the management and marketing of an international publishing company and the creation and management of one of Australia's largest medical recruitment agencies. She has now dedicated her time to the on-site oversight of The Children's Sanctuary, Siem Reap, Cambodia. Dawn is fluent in German and also speaks French and Khmer.
Dr. Vinay S. Rane
Board Member & Treasurer
Vinay is a forensic and police doctor based in Melbourne, Australia. He has provided medical and legal advice to public and private sector organisations. Dr Rane possesses a strong commitment to public health matters having been positioned in some of Australia's most isolated outposts working with Indigenous groups in addition to having studied and worked internationally. He is a Foundation Member of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians in London and a Fellow of the Australian College of Legal Medicine. In 2007 the Governor of Victoria presented Dr Rane with the Churchill Fellowship to examine assaults in disadvantaged populations. He has received awards from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia for research interests which include social equality and justice, and quality and safety in health care.
Melody Cornish
Board Member (Secretary)
Melody has been a Lawyer since 1999 and has done extensive work with the under-privileged, especially in the Aboriginal community and the under privileged. Melody is a permanent partner in one of Queenslands leading law firms.
Brian Haill
Board Member (non-office bearing)
Mr. Brian Haill is a former journalist in the print and electronic media, including his last position as the Chief of Staff at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s Melbourne Newsroom. Since retiring Brian’s has become heavily involved in wide range of humanitarian projects both at home and abroad (in Malawi, South Africa and Papua New Guinea) through The Australian AIDS Fund Incorporated, a Melbourne based AIDS care charity of which he is the Founder and President. Brian has been a vital ally to The Children’s Sanctuary from its’ inception, and brings an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation.
