Day 2 Within the Angkor complex are other magnificent temples. Preah Khan is the biggest temple on this loop, built by King Bayon for his father. The water around Neak Pean Island temple was used for bathing and health in the Angkor period. Ta Som has a distinctive big tree over the east gate and is formed with lots of sculptures of dancers with long hair; it was built for the king's sister. East Mebon, built for the ancestors, used to be in the middle of a reservoir and was constructed as early as the 10th century. Pre-Rup was built by the king for himself; often mistaken for a crematorium, a stone structure that looks similar to a coffin was used by Hindus to meditate within at the full moon.
