About International School of Siem Reap
The ISSR International School was established in August 2007 in central Siem Reap and is in a spacious two-storey building situated a short distance from the Old Market and river. All classrooms are equipped with air conditioners and up-to-date IT facilities are provided for students and staff.
A quality educational programme is given to our pupils from Kindergarten through to 15 years old who are instructed generally while seated together in small groups at tables in order to encourage healthy inter-social skills and facilitate their team work.
Outdoors, there is a large yard for exercise and ball games and a sun-protected play area with swings and resources is provided for the younger children.
Since early 2009 ISSR has a Parent - Teacher Association (PTA) that meets on a regular basis as a forum for parents to present and discuss issues that are important for them and for promoting understanding and a good relationship between parents, teachers and management.
Language training for young adults in English and German as well as ICT courses are held outside the core Primary School hours to help improve job opportunities for youth in Cambodia's leading tourist town.
ISSR's teachers come from Europe, Australia, USA or the Philippines and are all fully qualified with at least a first degree in Education or a related discipline with additional pedagogic training certification and are almost entirely native English speakers. We, as a team, provide the full programme as offered and prepare your children for becoming the future global leaders.
Aims and objectives of International School of Siem Reap
Our main objective is to build up the name of the International School of Siem Reap upon its chosen education programme of the British National Curriculum giving a quality assurance to the local community that Khmer children can have access to knowledge and life skills alongside "western" children in an equal opportunity environment to become Siem Reap's foremost educational establishment for children and youth.
This will be done while adhering to internationally accepted academic standards by providing children of all backgrounds a safe and healthy learning environment in which class-sizes will not exceed 16-18 pupils. Social skills will play an important role in our school where parents can be assured their children are in capable, caring hands.
Attention will be given to resourcing our classes with internationally sourced books to optimally support development of children's knowledge and understanding while under the guidance of professional expatriate teachers.
We are continually stocking our library with additional books for our pupils to further their reading and comprehension abilities with enjoyable fiction and non-fiction books covering subjects that lie both inside and outside their formal curriculum.
Extra-curricular activities are an integral part of the educational programme which are selected and prepared to directly or indirectly support the ongoing curricular content.
