Who are we?

Angkor Kids Center (AKC) is a private, non-profit, non-political, non-religious community-based educational structure established to help educate children in Samrong Village, Lieng Dai Commune, Angkor Thom District, Siem Rep Province, Cambodia.  The center based in Eastern part of Samrong village, forty kilo meters away from the provincial center with a population of approximately 2,600 people. Siem Reap Province is famous for Angkor Wat 314 kilometers northwest of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.

AKC's mission is to aid rural communities in improving their own standards of living, with a focus on increasing access to quality education. Our informal education takes initiatives; AKC is supporting education for over 550 families in one village, primarily. We believe that education is the key to sustainable change, and are committed to a holistic developmental approach which empowers children, parents, teachers, and communities to make the positive changes they want to see in their lives. Specifically, English language is a potential key to suit the modern national educational system.

AKC’s brief history:

Before reading this content you  may need to read also Samnang's biography. AKC was established under an unofficial basic; it grows with local volunteer under a concept of teaching to learn friends-help-friends basic. We are not professional, but we are trying to be. Read the full story here...

Who are at our back?

Angkor Kids Center was born without anything in its mouth. It is just standing on its decayed and unsecured foot. Up to now, apart from Samnang, Andreas and friends, the other foundations as mentioned on history, one private sector of tourism called freelanced tour guide community (organizing tours and travel ins Cambodia with touched services) also  takes some parts to leverage this big stone ahead.

AKC do hope that you will continue supporting us, to help the children’s education growth. Your one dollar, or one pencil, is the most useful to us as the real need. Support us now!!!
