Depart from the tour provider’s office in downtown Siem Reap. Your journey begins with a scenic drive to the foot of Phnom Kulen, the birthplace of the Khmer Empire in AD 802. Enjoy the breathtaking ride up the mountain, passing lush greenery before reaching the famous Kulen Waterfall. Take a refreshing dip or simply relax as you watch local families enjoying their sacred homeland. A light breakfast croissant will be provided to start your day.
Continue on foot to the River of a Thousand Lingas, where intricate carvings of Shiva Lingas cover the riverbed. Experience a traditional blessing with holy water from this sacred site before heading further up the mountain. At the summit, visit the revered pagoda and admire the world-famous Reclining Buddha, a spiritual highlight of Phnom Kulen.
In the afternoon continue to The Elephant forest camp, your expert guide will give an introductory briefing. Then get some handmade healthy snacks for the elephants and get up close to them and feed them.
Next, you will experience the daily life of the elephants. Spend your time observing them as they enjoy their surroundings and play by the pond. Walk with them into the forest and witness how they choose to spend their time.
Retire to base camp and enjoy a traditional Khmer meal or snack before heading back to Siem Reap town.
The Morning with Elephant - 08:00am to 12:30pm
Come and experience the daily life of our elephants. Spend your time observing them as they enjoy their natural surroundings. Walk with them into the forest, and witness how they choose to spend their time. At noon, retire to base camp and enjoy a traditional meal before heading back to Siem Reap.
The Afternoon Session - 12:30pm to 05:00pm
From preparing healthy snacks to a walk through the forest and a roll in the mud, this experience is a good way to learn more about how to pamper these amazing creatures and treat them to their version of a good time. As the sun begins to set, have a picnic in the wild and say goodbye to the elephants before heading back to town.
