The Purple Mangosteen is a small boutique Hotel with 6 stylish rooms in the heart of the historic centre of Siem Reap. It is located in the fashionable lane tucked behind the Old Market which still has some of the last original shop houses which are now art cafés, restaurants, boutiques and galleries.
Only a few steps away from the vibrant night life of the Old Quarter, this Hotel is quiet, with elegant fully air-conditioned rooms. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower and a full range of locally produced cosmetics for the guests to sample.
Recently redesigned by the architects who have given many of Siem Reap's keynote hotels and restaurants their elegant characteristics, it has six individually designed rooms including two which are specially suited to a families with children.
The hotel has been designed with ecology in mind making use of solar power and most of the food from the restaurant is organically grown on the Hotel’'s own farm. There is a roof terrace with a view over the centre of Siem Reap for relaxing in the evening with one of the house cocktails, and the restaurant menu can introduce the visitor to traditional Khmer cuisine while at the same time catering for International tastes.
Roof Terrace
With a full 360° view of the old town this unique roof terrace is a really special feature of this hotel. Hard wood decking and comfortable furniture will allow guests to relax and enjoy the sunset or the stars in peace and quiet with a cool drink.
TV and DVDs
The rooms all have large flat screen TVs which have a DVD slot in the side so that you can watch your own DVDs or can choose from the selection that the Hotel has for your enjoyment.
Air Conditioning
All the rooms have brand new air-conditiong units which have just been installed during recent re-styling.
Solar powered hot water
The latest solar power technology means that you can reduce your carbon footprint as you wash away the days dust under our luxurious rain showers.
Minibar, water, tea and coffee.
You will have complimentary mineral water as well as the possibility to make yourself tea or coffee. All rooms have a fully equipped minibar.
Locally Produced Cosmetics
The soaps in the showers are all locally made so not only will you smell great but you will also be supporting local handicraft industries.
Room Fans
Our rooms are also equipped with fans for those guests who do not like air-conditioning and unlike many hotels you can also open the windows!
