This 4-day tour highlights Cambodia’s best treasures. On Day 1, explore Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat, ending with sunset at Phnom Bakheng Hill. Day 2 starts with sunrise at Angkor Wat and visits to Ta Prohm, Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, East Mebon, Pre Rup, and Banteay Srei. Day 3 combines countryside traditions, Kulen National Park, and a boat trip to Kampong Phluk floating village. On Day 4, discover the remote Koh Ker temples, including Prasat Thom, before exploring the jungle ruins of Beng Melea.
Day 1: Discovering the Heart of Angkor
The journey begins with an early departure to the Angkor Archaeological Park. The first stop is Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, where massive gates and smiling stone faces welcome visitors into an ancient world. Wandering among the temples, it’s easy to imagine the grandeur of a city that once thrived centuries ago. Lunch is served at a nearby restaurant before heading to Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s most iconic monument and a true wonder of the world. The day ends with a climb to Phnom Bakheng Hill, where the sun slowly dips behind the jungle and temple spires, casting the ruins in a golden glow. It’s the perfect way to close the first day before heading back to the hotel.
Day 2: Sunrise and Temple Treasures
Day two starts before dawn, with a pickup at 4:40 AM to catch the magical sunrise at Angkor Wat. As the sky changes colors, the silhouette of the temple reflects in the lotus pond—a scene that stays with you long after you leave. To escape the crowds, the tour continues to Ta Prohm, the famous “Tomb Raider Temple,” where ancient walls are swallowed by towering roots. The adventure carries on through Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, East Mebon, and Pre Rup—each temple with its own story, atmosphere, and charm. After enjoying lunch at a local spot, the day ends at Banteay Srei, a stunning pink sandstone temple known for its delicate carvings. Returning to the hotel, travelers carry not just photographs but a deeper sense of Angkor’s history and artistry.
Day 3: Countryside and Kulen Mountain
The third day shifts from temples to the countryside. The morning begins with a visit to rural villages, where locals still make rice noodles by hand. Guests can also try Cambodia’s traditional palm cake, a sweet treat made from palm sugar. The trip then heads to Kulen National Park, a place of both natural beauty and spiritual significance. Here, visitors find the country’s largest reclining Buddha statue, carved in stone during the 16th century. The park’s waterfalls offer a refreshing break, while the River of a Thousand Lingas, with its carved riverbed, highlights Cambodia’s sacred past. After lunch, the adventure continues to Tonle Sap Lake for a boat ride to Kampong Phluk, a floating village where houses rise high on stilts. Watching life unfold on the water is a unique glimpse into how people adapt to nature. The day ends back in Siem Reap, with lasting memories of both culture and scenery.
Day 4: Remote Ruins and Jungle Temples
The final day begins with a journey north to the remote Koh Ker Group, once the capital of the Khmer Empire. Among its many ruins, Prasat Thom stands out—a seven-tiered pyramid temple that towers over the forest. Walking its steps feels like uncovering a forgotten chapter of history. Lunch is enjoyed nearby before heading to Beng Melea, a 12th-century temple hidden in the jungle. Unlike the carefully restored temples of Angkor, Beng Melea has been left in its natural, ruined state. Vines, moss, and trees have grown over its walls, giving it the feel of a lost world. Exploring its shadowy corridors and open courtyards feels adventurous and mysterious. Afterward, travelers return to their hotel, closing the journey with both excitement and reflection.
In just four days, this tour brings together the essence of Cambodia: majestic temples, warm village traditions, sacred mountains, and hidden ruins. From sunrise at Angkor Wat to the untamed beauty of Beng Melea, the journey leaves travelers with not only vivid experiences but also a true sense of connection to Cambodia’s soul.
