Day 1: Arrival - Siem Reap
Arrive at Siem Reap International airport, where you will be met by your tour guide, then taken to your hotel to check-in. At midday, you will be taken to a local restaurant for lunch.
After lunch, you will visit the earliest temples of Angkor area the Roluos Group. The monuments of Roluos, which served as the capital of Indravaraman I (reigned 877-89); the include the temples of Preah Ko, Bakhong and Lolei.
In the evening, return to the town centre to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and some of Siem Reap’s nightlife.
Day 2: Siem Reap - Angkor City Tour
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. In the morning, you’ll visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom (with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk) and then on to a visit around Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces), Baphun temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple which has been embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees, before taking an extensive tour around the magnificent World heritage site of Angkor Wat.
In the evening, you will enjoy a dinner at the local restaurant, where you can sample many delicious Cambodian dishes whilst watching a traditional Khmer dance show.
Day 3: Siem Reap - Kbal Spean - Banteay Srei
After breakfast at your hotel, you will have an exciting day excursion to Kbal Spean, the ‘River of a Thousand Linga’, dating from the early 11th century, the relief carving that line the stream beds are said to purify the water before it fills the reservoirs of Angkor. A tasty picnic lunch will be held at Kbal Spean.
In the afternoon, you will visit Banteay Srei, the exquisite ‘Women’s Citadel’. Located 32 km from Siem Reap town, this was Cambodia’s last major Khmer temple to be re-discovered and has some of the most beautiful and well preserved carvings from the era. Finally, a visit to Banteay Samre, built in the third quarter of the 12th century. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant.
Day 4: Siem Reap - Phnom Kulen
After breakfast, a morning trip to Phnom Kulen Mountain where you can see the beautiful waterfall and visit the Rock temple which has a large reclining Buddha. You can enjoy a picnic lunch by the waterfall. Afternoon is free at leisure.
Day 5: Kampong Phluk Floating Village
After breakfast, you will be driven by Tuk Tuk to enjoy a fun ox cart ride through the Cambodian countryside. After the ride, you can visit the South-East Asia’s biggest freshwater lake; the Tonle Sap. Board a boat and spend the rest of the morning at one of the largest villages on the lake, which is called Kompong Phluk. In the village you will witness the fascinating daily lives of the local people who live on the water.
On the way back to hotel, you will visit Les Artisans D’ Angkor – a French Organization that trains young and often disabled Cambodians in the traditional Khmer artist techniques. You will take a guided tour around the different stone and wood carving workshops where the artisans are taught to use traditional Khmer techniques. You can also do some last minute shopping here.
Day 6: Siem Reap Departure
Breakfast is served at the hotel before being transferred to airport for your flight.
