Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, was a fortified city enclosing residences of priest, officials of the palace and military, as well as buildings for administering the kingdom. The city of Angkor Thom consists of a square, each side of which is about three kilometers long a laterite wall 8 meters. Before enter the city, you will first stop first at the South gate and then continue to visit Bayon Temple. The Bayon temple was built nearly 100 years after Angkor Wat. Since it was located at the center of a royal city it seems possible that the Bayon would have originally been a temple-mountain conforming to the symbolism of a microcosm of Mount Meru. After Bayon continue to visit Terrace of Leper King and the Elephant Terrace.
End of today experience with comfort of your basket vantage point 180 meters of super yellow balloon above the ancient complex, your bird's eye view will be in indelible memory, a unique opportunity to see the scope and complexity of one of the world's most powerful civilizations. Exciting with the view of Phnom Bakheng and Baray from the Angkor Balloon Ride and see how the rising sun reveals the Angkor Wat domes or wonder at the multicolored sunset turning it in to a mystical, magical silhouette in the jungle.
