What To Expect

At 12:00pm, our Tuk Tuk driver will pick you up from your hotel and bring you to the pier where we will take a boat to Silk Island. It will take about an hour to reach the island. Along the way you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the city, fishing villages and the people who live and work along the river bank. On arrival at the island, we will have a short walk in the village and you will see the local culture including a Buddhist monastery and a visit to local children as they study in school (subject to the school schedule that day). After that we will take a Tuk Tuk ride for about 15 minutes around the village to visit a Silk Farm where you can see the whole production process. From the mulberry-chomping silk worms in their golden cocoons through to the complex manual loom-weaving process which requires a dexterity and memory that would be the envy of many. We will then return to the boat by Tuk Tuk. Whilst on board you can continue to enjoy complimentary unlimited beer and soft drinks. A fresh fruit platter will also be provided.
